In this article, Z.N.Vorozheykina, first of all, paid attention to the socio-ethical events that were the focus of the poet’s attention, and in this context, analyzed the meaning and ideological essence of the poet’s rubai, and in the article “Umar Khayyom and Khayyom’s rubai” first Khayyom indicates the sources that informed him as a poet. In particular, he mentions the testimonies of “Khayyam’s younger contemporary, historian Abulhasan Bayhaqi”, Arabic-speaking historian Kifti, Arabic-speaking jurist Najmuddin Razi about “Khayyam’s Arabic poems and his Persian rubai”. This scientist singles out Khayyam’s poetry in the rubai genre and considers “the main content of his poems to be philosophical and joyous lyrics.” In this context, analyzing Khayyam’s Rubaiyat based on a mental approach, he comes to the conclusion that it is a “great idea”. Taking into account the personality of the poet Khayyam, that is, the confirmation of the right of every person living on earth to live happily, allows us to consider Khayyam the greatest humanist of the past,” he says (45, 13). From this point of view, the researcher analyzes samples from Khayyam’s Rubaiyat. and shows its essence and main approaches of thought. Segregation of Khayyam’s work into the world of topics, identification of ideological directions, recognition and evaluation of Khayyam’s work, the merits of this orientalist are very great. Omar Khayyam’s biography occupies a special place in Russian oriental studies. In the scientific works devoted to the study of this topic, issues such as his birthplace, social status, date and place of birth, personal and family life, and his relationship with his contemporaries were evaluated from different angles.

Summary

The article discusses in detail the stages of formation and evolution of Khayyam studies in Russia and its important approaches. On the basis of real and concrete acts, it is proved that V. Jukovsky laid the foundations in the Russian-Khayyam oriental science by writing “Omar Khayyam and the “wandering”, rubaiyat”, raising the question of the method of selecting and highlighting the original Khayyam rubaiyat. Starting from the twenties of the last century, Khayyam studies gradually formed and developed, and the study of the issues of time, life and work of Khayyam was in the center of attention of Russian Howarists. His connection with the literary and cultural environment, his connection with politicians and writers has always been the subject of close attention of scientists. Features of the life time, literary environment and Khayyam’s connection with political figures, including Nizamulmulk, Hasan Sabbah and some poets and historians, with an analysis of the works of A.Bolotnikov, A.E. Krumsky, S.B. Morochnik, B.A. Rosenfeld, R.M. Aliev M.N. Usmonov and others. With a comparative analysis in the article, the contribution of such scientists as B.A. Rosenfeld and A.P. Yushkevich is especially appreciated in the knowledge and evaluation of Khayyam’s scientific activities, his role in the development of the science of philosophy and the revival of the Galilean calendar.

The authors show the extreme popularity of Khayyám in Russia, even before Fitzgerald’s translations were published. The English translation only added to Khayyám’s popularity. The authors investigate how different translations of a single quatrain were made and how a large number of illustrated translations usually erotic, were made based on these translations. They also examine the contemporary popularity of Khayyám and the ready availability of editions of his quatrains, from large bookstores to tiny book-stalls. The authors examine different translations in each generation and how these translations helped to popularize Khayyám. Attention is also paid to literary forgery and how it acquires national value and prestige: D. Serebryakov “claimed Omar Khayyám for the nation” in 2000 by stating that Khayyám’s native town was in Tataria.
