The labels under the ‘Setting’ filter are simplifications for the wide variety of terms that are used in the descriptions of the works under the ‘Setting’ column. For example: “For Soprano and piano”, or “Low voice and piano” are all registered as “Voice and piano”.
Another example: “High voice and chamber instruments” and “Chamber music with voice” have been arranged under “Voice(s) with emsemble”. These ‘umbrella-terms’, or classes, are coded as “B-1” or “B-3”.
These codes are added to retrieve other works in the same class.
