The Bibliography by A.G. Potter (link) is without question an important tool for the bibliographer, the collector or the scholar when it comes to ‘rubáiyát’ and related matters. And for a long time it has been the only one in terms of scope and coverage as it lists more than 580 editions in English and foreign languages, up till the year 1929.
In his Foreword Potter notes that “the foreign section is not fully representative, it being somewhat outside the scope of my collection”. In a , librarian of the Rylands Library in Manchester, he states that “It (the bibliography) is 99% a catalogue of my collection.”
Although his collection consisted of a considerable number of editions and translations, there were quite a few that Potter missed: Coumans (2009) identified some 130 titles.
